How to Get Around Located in Prince George County, the area is relatively close to Washington D.C. With a wide area to navigate, it can be hard to figure out how to get around. The Metrorail can provide transport from College Park Station. In addition, several different Metrobus stations are located in the area as well. The Amtrak is another possibility, offering several stops. And, finally, there is also a bike share system that you can use to make your way around. more Get Up and Moving There are a variety of parks and play areas to explore and enjoy with friends and family that make up College Park. You can visit the Old Town Playground at 7504 Columbia Avenue or James Adams Park at Berwyn House Road and Road Island Avenue. You can find a nice hiking trail called the Trolley Trail. It's a 3.8-mile-long path along an old trolley path. If you're looking for a fun day out, any one of these would make a perfect destination. Events There are several events held throughout the year in College Park. There's a weekly farmer's market on Sundays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Hollywood Shopping Plaza. The community gardens are available to residents to use and learn how to grow or maintain a garden. Gardens are located in the Hollywood area and in Old Town. The area is also home to several seasonal events. During the warmer months, they offer a Night at the Movies, which is an outdoor theater, and Fourth of July activities. When the weather starts to turn, you can participate in the annual Halloween events and a Breakfast with Santa. No matter what time of year you choose to explore, there's something for everyone. Attractions In the summer, you can swing by Campus Drive and bring the kids to visit the Ellen E. London Splash Park. It has slides, a diving board, and they even offer swimming classes. Herbert Wells Ice Rink, also located on Campus Drive, is open from October to April. If you make your way to Lake Artemesia, you'll discover a large lake, fishing areas, and aquatic gardens. You can also visit the popular College Park Aviation Museum, founded by Wilbur Wright in 1909 and located near the College Park Airport.
