There are plenty of places to visit around New Carrollton with kids. Whether you want something that is educational and interactive, or an activity that is full of fun and thrills, there is something for everyone. NASA Goddard Visitor Center
The NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and Visitor Center is a great place to take kids who love space. The center is free to visit and has plenty of interactive exhibits that you can explore.
While at the center, you can learn about space communications, Earth science, and the James Webb Space Telescope. There is a large-scale digital art installation called Solarium that shows loops and explosions of plasma on the sun's surface. Visitors can also learn about the moon by looking at a prototype of the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and examining moon rock brought back by the Apollo 14 astronauts.

College Park Aviation Museum
New Carrollton is also home to the College Park Aviation Museum. The museum is a 27,000 square-foot facility that preserves and promotes aviation innovations. Visitors can explore the museum, view unique aircraft and artifacts, and learn about the stories of many of the airport's "firsts" in flight. The museum is also full of hands-on activities that kids can enjoy.
Admission to the museum is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, and $2 for children. Children one and under are free. You can also choose to do a guided tour of the museum with a group of 10 or more.
Six Flags Baltimore/Washington
Six Flags offers thrills for the whole family. There are plenty of rides, so you'll be sure to find something for all ages. There are thrill rides that will get the blood pumping for the older kids and the kids at heart. Six Flags also has family rides that kids and adults can do together, as well as kids rides that the little ones can do by themselves.
In addition to the rides, there is also a water park that you can visit on the hotter days to cool down. The water park features water slides for all ages; Buccaneer Beach, which is a two-pool beach for little kids; and a million-gallon wave pool that delivers giant waves and currents.
