Here are some of the top attractions you can visit if you are in the New Carrollton area. more NASA Goddard Visitor Center For anyone who is a fan of NASA and the stars, you can plan a visit and check out special events and exhibits. They have a wide range of experiences that let you explore the universe from your backyard. Plus, the best part is that admission is free. One of the exhibits is "Decade of Light: A Space Communications and Navigation Exhibit," in which you will discover information about different types of energy that help connect astronauts to Earth. You can send messages to a NASA spacecraft, experience what happens when things like clouds block messages, and play with interactive games on touch screens. Other exhibits include GLOBE Hall, featuring NASA Earth science activities at four different stations, and Neighborhood Earth, in which you can see Earth as one connected neighborhood. You can also learn about the NASA James Webb Space Telescope and view Solarium, an immersive digital art installation about the sun. For more information about the exhibits, hours, and other space fun, you can visit the Goddard Space Flight Center website. FedEx Field Home to the Redskins NFL team, FedEx Field stadium is a great place to visit for a game or for a behind-the-scenes look at the park through a stadium tour. To catch a game, you can book tickets on the Redskins website. During games, visitors can enjoy the Bud Light Party Pavilion with musical entertainment, food, and beverages. The Bud Light Social Lounge is a one-of-a-kind interactive lounge with a virtual field goal kick, tablet experiences, Xbox Ones, and two morphing stations. Lake Artemesia Natural Area Lake Artemesia is a 38-acre lake that gives visitors a chance to relax and enjoy nature. The park allows fishing and features more than two miles of trails, on which you can hike or bike to the College Park Airport and Aviation Museum. Birdwatchers will enjoy the Luther Goldman Birding Trail, where you can see finches, ibis, orioles, and more. If you are interested in fishing, you will need a non-tidal fishing license for anyone 16 years and older. You also need a trout stamp if you want to take any trout home. College Park Aviation Museum Founded in 1909 when Wilbur Wright came to teach military aviators, the College Park Aviation Museum is home to both historic and replica aircraft that have significance to the airfield. The museum is a 27,000 square-foot space full of hands-on activities and interpretive areas. Be sure to pack a picnic for your visit, as there are places to sit outside and watch planes come in on the runway.
